Let’s get royal, shall we? The tarot court cards have so much to teach you about yourself. Carrie, I’m enjoying this podcast but could you give and example of an external guideline a king might impose on the world?
Once again, I want to say how useful I find your take on various aspects of tarot
Sure! I guess the first quick example that I can think of is the King of Swords. Swords being about the mental realm, logic and so on; I tend to see the King of Swords as a fact based person – someone who would set external guidelines by requiring evidence and data to back up choices. Evidence and data being external guidelines in that they aren’t based on ‘gut instincts’ but based on outside occurrences.
I would contrast this by bringing up the Queen of Swords, as I see the Queens as being more about conveying the energy of the suit from the inside out instead of imposing it upon the world. So the Queen of Swords might be more willing that her own wisdom and judgements are evidence enough. I guess a short way of saying this is that they both have a mental, rational approach but the King is more about deductive reasoning (setting external guidelines) and the Queen is more about inductive reasoning.
Hopefully that makes some sense?
